Ok so let’s recap… I’ve known Kat for ::cough, cough:: roughly 20years. We met at the tender ages of 9 and 10 (yes I’m older 🙂 ) at ballet class and rehearsal for the Nutcracker. Fast forward to last year when she and I connected on Facebook and I was looking for couples for my “Just Us” sessions. The rest as they say is history.
It was such a privilege to be able to photograph her wedding at the Delaware Center for Horticulture in May. The weather was perfection and there day was filled with special touches and shared with those that are special to Kat and Werner and their families.
Kat, her mom and the girls had their hair and makeup done at Sherif Zaki in Greenville.
From there we headed over to the Hotel DuPont to get ready.
Just a tip…If you are planning on getting ready at a hotel, Ask for a corner room on a higher floor. The light is amazing!!! Just look.
Kat’s flowers were by Bloomsberry Flowers in Wilmington. They were so beautiful!! Kat’s bouquet actually had rosemary and shamrocks in it as a nod to Kat’s irish heritage.
Meanwhile Dave was over with Werner and the guys while they got ready…
Kat has 3 older brothers who decided to mess with Werner before Kat came down the isle. Add “The Godfather” soundtrack here 🙂
Look at that light 🙂
Kat and Werner also decided to do a Handfasting Ceremony.
The first dance.
MMMM Cake 🙂
OK so instead of a traditional garter Kat decided to play a little trick on Werner….
Apparently Kat’s brothers were making sure Werner kept his hand where they could see them …LOL
That’s it Kat make sure you keep him in line 🙂
Finally Kat’s Mom gave the couple a 5min sand timer. When the time is up that argument is over. Hmm I’m thinking I need to get one of those 🙂
Kat and Werner I hope you had a wonderful Honeymoon!!! Thank you so much for letting us capture your special day!!!
Well, Kylene as usual AMAZING wedding photography! Can’t wait for August 22nd!! xoxo
